Ujra Mosque, Kavaratti

Ujra Mosque, one of the oldest and most architecturally significant mosques in Kavaratti, is notable for a wooden interior and carved ceiling reflecting a distinct local building tradition shaped by the limited stone resources available on a coral island. A freshwater pond beside the mosque, considered locally to have healing properties, adds an additional layer of significance to the site beyond its architectural interest.
