Wei Sawdong Falls

Wei Sawdong Falls, near Cherrapunji, is a three-tiered waterfall known for its vivid turquoise pools, reached via a steep descent of several hundred steps through forest terrain. The falls' clear, brightly coloured water has made it an increasingly popular stop among visitors exploring Cherrapunji's dense concentration of waterfalls, offering a somewhat quieter alternative to the more famous Nohkalikai and Seven Sisters falls.

The climb back up from the falls can be demanding given the number of steps and Cherrapunji's often slippery monsoon conditions, but the reward of the falls' striking colour and relatively secluded setting has made Wei Sawdong a favourite among visitors specifically seeking Meghalaya's less crowded natural attractions.

As one of the numerous waterfalls scattered throughout the Cherrapunji plateau's dramatic monsoon-carved terrain, Wei Sawdong has grown in visitor popularity as word has spread of its particularly vivid, clear pools.
