Teesta River

The Teesta River, Sikkim's principal waterway, flows through dramatic gorges and valleys across the state, its rapids offering some of Northeast India's most popular white-water rafting, particularly along the stretch near Kalimpong and further downstream. Beyond adventure sports, the river's course through Sikkim shapes much of the state's settlement pattern and agriculture, with numerous villages and towns positioned along its banks.
