Udayagiri Buddhist Complex in Jajpur district — distinct from the more famous Jain Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves near Bhubaneswar — is the third site in Odisha's Buddhist Diamond Triangle, its excavated monastery and stupa ruins including a notable stepped well and inscriptions that have helped date the site's periods of activity. Excavations here, ongoing since the early 2000s, continue to reveal new structures, making it one of the more actively studied Buddhist archaeological sites in the region.
