Jampore is a quieter alternative to Devka, a long, relatively undeveloped beach south of Daman town backed by a casuarina grove that provides welcome shade. Its greater length and comparative lack of commercial development make it popular with visitors looking for a calmer walk along the shore, away from the busier facilities at Devka.
The gently sloping sand and generally calm surf make Jampore reasonably suitable for wading and light swimming, and the beach's relative quiet, particularly on weekdays, has made it an increasingly favoured spot for those seeking a more low-key Daman beach experience. A handful of camping and adventure activity operators have also begun setting up along the beach in recent years.
Jampore has traditionally been Daman's more understated beach compared to the more actively developed Devka, retaining a quieter, more natural character even as tourism to the wider region has grown steadily over recent decades.
