Le Corbusier Centre

The Le Corbusier Centre is a small dedicated museum tracing the vision and working process of the Swiss-French architect who designed Chandigarh from the ground up — one of the very few times in modern history that a major architect was given the opportunity to plan an entire city. The centre displays original sketches, models, photographs and correspondence documenting the city's design in detail.

For anyone visiting the Capitol Complex or Chandigarh's other Modernist landmarks, the centre provides useful context on the thinking behind the city's distinctive grid layout, sector-based planning and raw concrete architectural style, making it a natural stop either before or after seeing the buildings themselves.
