Mawlynnong, often promoted as 'Asia's cleanest village', is a small Khasi settlement near the Bangladesh border known for meticulous community-maintained cleanliness, bamboo dustbins placed throughout the village, and a strong local tradition of environmental stewardship reflected in the residents' careful upkeep of their surroundings. A living root bridge and a natural 'Sky View' viewing platform, offering views toward the plains of Bangladesh, add further attractions within the compact village.
