Chandigarh Bird Park

The Chandigarh Bird Park in Sector 21 is a walk-through aviary housing a wide variety of Indian and international bird species within large, naturalistic enclosures, allowing visitors to walk among many of the birds rather than viewing them from a distance. Parrots, pheasants, hornbills and waterfowl are among the species on display, alongside informative signage on each.

Netted overhead canopies keep the birds within the park while still allowing visitors to walk beneath the same open sky, giving the enclosures a more naturalistic feel than a conventional caged aviary. Compact and easily covered within an hour, the park makes for a pleasant, family-friendly stop, particularly appealing to visitors with children or a specific interest in birdlife rather than large mammals.

Developed as a dedicated aviary-style attraction distinct from Chandigarh's general zoo offerings, focused specifically on avian species within a walk-through format that lets visitors get closer to the birds than a traditional zoo layout would allow.
