City Palace is one of the most prominent royal landmarks in Jaipur, located in the heart of the historic Pink City. The magnificent complex combines Rajput, Mughal and European architectural influences, featuring ornate gateways, courtyards, palaces, gardens and beautifully decorated interiors.
The palace complex includes notable sections such as Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas and Pritam Niwas Chowk. It also houses museums displaying royal costumes, manuscripts, weapons, paintings, textiles and other artefacts associated with Jaipur's former royal family.
The City Palace was established in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. Construction began after he shifted his capital from Amber to the newly planned city of Jaipur in 1727. The palace complex was gradually expanded and modified by successive rulers of Jaipur.
Its architecture reflects the artistic traditions of the Kachwaha Rajputs while incorporating Mughal and later European influences. The palace served as the administrative and ceremonial centre of the Jaipur state and continued to be associated with the city's royal family. Today, it remains an important heritage attraction and a major symbol of Jaipur's royal history.

By Air: Jaipur International Airport is approximately 12–14 km from the City Palace. Taxis, app-based cabs and local transport are available.
By Train: Jaipur Junction Railway Station is around 4–5 km away and has frequent connections to Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jodhpur and other major cities.
By Road: Jaipur is well connected by road with Delhi, Agra, Ajmer, Jodhpur and other Rajasthan cities. Local buses, auto-rickshaws, taxis and app-based cabs can be used to reach the City Palace.
