Dzukou Valley

Dzukou Valley, straddling the Manipur-Nagaland border, is renowned for its rolling green hills and seasonal wildflower blooms, reached only via a demanding trek that has made it one of Northeast India's most celebrated trekking destinations. The valley's remote, largely untouched character and the sheer visual drama of its rolling grassland terrain have drawn increasing numbers of trekkers from across India in recent years.

Camping overnight in the valley, watching sunset and sunrise transform the surrounding hills, is considered the fullest way to experience Dzukou's particular atmosphere, and the valley's cross-border position between Manipur and Nagaland gives it a somewhat shared significance for trekkers approaching from either state.

Long known to local Angami and Zeliangrong communities on both sides of the state border, Dzukou Valley has become one of Northeast India's most popular trekking destinations as improved information and access have drawn wider attention to its scenery.

Trek typically begins from Viswema (Nagaland side) or from the Manipur side via Senapati district.
