Sinquerim, at the southern end of the Calangute-Baga beach strip, sits directly beneath Fort Aguada, giving it one of North Goa's more scenic backdrops among the region's beaches. Its position near several of Goa's more upmarket resorts has given it a somewhat quieter, more polished character than the busier stretches of sand further north.
Water sports facilities are readily available, and the beach's proximity to Fort Aguada means a stop here combines naturally with exploring the fort's ramparts and lighthouse, making Sinquerim a practical, scenic addition to a day spent in this stretch of North Goa's coastline.
As one of the beaches closest to Fort Aguada, Sinquerim's development has been closely tied to the fort's own history as a strategic defensive point for Portuguese Goa, with the beach's modern tourism identity growing up in the shadow of the older fortification.
November to February.
About 18km from Goa's airport, near Fort Aguada.
