Jubilee Park, Jamshedpur

Jubilee Park, a 200-acre green space in the Sakchi area of Jamshedpur, was developed and continues to be maintained by Tata Steel as one of the city's central recreational spaces. Within its grounds sit several of Jamshedpur's best-known attractions in miniature — the Tata Steel Zoological Park, a rose garden, musical fountains and Jayanti Sarovar, an artificial lake with a small island known as Bat Island at its centre.

The park is a genuine hub of daily life in Jamshedpur, drawing joggers and cyclists in the early morning and families out for evening walks and picnics later in the day. Its scale and the variety of attractions packed within it — zoo, lake, gardens and amusement rides among them — make it an easy half-day outing for visitors wanting a sense of how Tata Steel's planned township approach shaped the city's public spaces.

Opened in August 1958 by Tata Steel, Jubilee Park was developed as part of the company's broader programme of building civic and recreational infrastructure into the planned township of Jamshedpur.

Centrally located in Jamshedpur's Sakchi neighbourhood, easily reached by local taxi or auto-rickshaw.
