Telangana is a state in south-central India, renowned for its rich history, magnificent forts, ancient temples, vibrant culture, scenic waterfalls, and rapidly growing technology sector. Formed in 2014, Telangana is India's youngest state and is home to Hyderabad, a global hub for information technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and innovation.

The state boasts iconic landmarks such as Charminar, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ramappa Temple, the historic Golconda Fort, and the scenic Kuntala Waterfalls. Telangana is also famous for its distinctive cuisine, handicrafts, and colorful festivals.

History

  1. Telangana has a rich history dating back over 2,000 years and was ruled by several dynasties, including the Satavahanas, Kakatiyas, Bahmani Sultanate, Qutb Shahis, and the Asaf Jahi (Nizam) dynasty.
  2. The Kakatiya dynasty played a significant role in shaping the region's cultural and architectural heritage, constructing impressive forts, temples, and irrigation tanks.
  3. Hyderabad was founded in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, who also built the iconic Charminar.
  4. After India's independence, the Hyderabad State was integrated into the Indian Union in 1948 through Operation Polo.
  5. Telangana was officially formed as the 29th state of India on 2 June 2014, following its separation from Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana is located in south-central India and shares borders with:
